My story                                 From Near Loss to Lifelong  Protection: My Journey into the         World of Life Insurance

For 25 years, my purpose was rooted in the tangible act of healing as a Certified Medical Assistant. My hands and heart were dedicated to caring for others. Then, on May 7th, 2022, life threw me into a brutal reality.

Just three months after achieving a dream – my new Jeep – and on the cusp of my first Saturday off from a new remote role with Kaiser, a split-second decision to avoid a squirrel sent my life spiraling. A 60 mph collision, a violent roll, and a terrifying 30-foot fall left me with a broken neck (hangman's fracture), an open compound face fracture, a broken sternum, five broken ribs, and a shattered left leg. I coded twice at the scene, my body failing. Two agonizing hours later, I was airlifted to Sutter Roseville.

Waking up three days later began a torturous journey of physical and emotional recovery. The initial weeks were an unrelenting battle with pain, followed by six months of immobility. I am eternally grateful to the surgeons who pieced me back together. By November, I was back at work, but the landscape of healthcare had shifted, and my initial passion began to wane.

Seeking a new way to help others, I transitioned to in-home care and then supported mentally disabled students. Later, in in-home healthcare, I met incredible individuals during their most vulnerable times, including Linda, a four-time cancer survivor who faced her final battle with ALS. Caring for her until her passing this past June tested my emotional limits but also deepened my understanding of life's fragility and the importance of unwavering support. Witnessing her journey, the challenges she and her husband faced, left an indelible mark.

It was during this time that a profound realization hit me. My own near-death experience in the accident, and the subsequent financial strain my family faced during my six months of recovery, highlighted a critical need: life insurance. I vividly remember the struggle to make ends meet, the worry over basic necessities. If I had prioritized my family's financial well-being with the same diligence I applied to insuring my new Jeep, those months would have been far less devastating. We made it through – I'm a fighter – but the financial hardship was a stark and unnecessary burden.

This personal experience ignited a new passion within me. Four months ago, I embarked on a career in the life insurance world, specifically championing whole life policies. It's been a whirlwind, especially navigating the world of sales, something I never felt drawn to before because I lacked genuine passion for the product.

However, my perspective on life insurance is deeply personal. I understand the emotional weight of uncertainty and the profound peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved ones are protected. My years in healthcare have honed my ability to empathize, listen, and connect with people during vulnerable times – skills I now realize are my superpowers in this new field.

I am a new agent, eager to learn and grow with a company that values education. I ask a lot of questions, determined to master the intricacies of this industry. I understand it's often seen as a numbers game, but I believe those numbers represent real people with real families who deserve to understand the vital importance of life insurance.

My own experience taught me a harsh lesson: life insurance isn't about "if" something will happen, but "when." It's about providing a safety net, ensuring that our loved ones aren't left to navigate financial hardship on top of emotional devastation. I am here to share my story, to listen to your needs, and to help you understand the true value of protecting your family's future. I believe in whole life insurance because I've lived through a time when it could have made all the difference. Let's talk about how we can provide that security for you and your loved ones.
